Allison - I am just a wine drinker, and I am trying to learn more about Cabernet Franc, thus my subscription. Part of learning is drinking, and I have been doing some of that, based on some of your writings. I don't know if you have written about this wine, but I really like it: San Carlos Cabernet Franc 2023 High Mountain Vines CATENA Mendoza Argentina. Thanks for the good information you provide.

Hi Cecil - thank you for reading, subscribing and taking a moment to comment. I’m glad you’ve been getting some good value out of my posts. I have written about that wine before (perhaps a different vintage but I’d have to check). But it is consistently one of my favourite Argentinian Cabernet Francs.

Hi Allison, I finally tried some of Steven Kent's Cab Franc Blanc. To my taste, it was a wonderful, ethereal wine. Now I'll have to snag an Elements 4 pack! Cheers! PS Is there a Cab France produced in the Loire Valley, not imported into the US, that is a "must find" for you? I'll briefly be in Paris and want to bring a special bottle home with me. ;^)

Hi Michael! Thank you for reading. I’m glad you enjoyed the Cab Franc Blanc from Steven Kent Winery. That’s amazing! From the Loire, I would say that if you could track down a Bourgueil from Simon Remy in Paris, that would be high on my list of something to bring home. Domaine de l’Ours Bleu from Saumur-Champigny might also be up your alley, their La Salle Martin. Nice to hear from you as always. Enjoy Paris!

Thank you, Allison! I just read that the Blue Bear also produces a Cab Franc Blanc . . . .

Indeed they do! 🙂 There are more and more white Cabernet Francs being made in the Loire. If you come across the Fabien Duveau “Humelay” it might be my favourite from the Loire.

Thank you Allison for passing-on the Jancis Robinson link about Lang & Reed Franc Retrospective... you know, if you come visit, I will try to pull all those same corks for you.... as we always say 'Can we be perfectly franc?" Cheers

Thank you, John. The question of a visit is not an “if” but a “when.” Hoping the stars align to get out to California in 2027. Thank you for your continued passion for and commitment to Cabernet Franc.
