About Me
Since 2020, I’ve been building what has become the most comprehensive independent body of work dedicated to a single grape variety - Cabernet Franc. Over five years, that has grown into over 250 in-depth video essays and written articles exploring the terroirs, producers, and expressions of Cabernet Franc from around the world.
My focus is on Cabernet Franc as the STAR. Not a supporting player in a blend, but a variety with the range, depth, and sense of place to carry a wine entirely on its own. From still reds to rosé, sparkling to dessert wine, Cabernet Franc is one of the most versatile varieties on earth - and one of the most under-appreciated. That’s what keeps me here doing this work that I love.
I hold the WSET Diploma, and I speak and present on Cabernet Franc in English and French for professional and consumer audiences. My deepest area of expertise is the Loire Valley - the grape’s ancestral home and the only place in the world with centuries of heritage and experience making single-varietal Cabernet Franc. Throughout this site I dive deep into its appellations, producers, soils, and the remarkable range of expressions this one region can yield from a single grape.
